Christian Academy of Guatemala (CAG) is a non-profit, non-denominational, private school. Its ministry is to the English-speaking community of Guatemala. The Christian Academy of Guatemala in Guatemala City serves children of both the expatriate business and the missionary communities, including LCMS missionary children. The total enrollment of more than 200 students (K-12) represents more than 50 mission agencies. This Christian school relies on volunteers to serve as its teachers. The faculty is expected to have a commitment to the Lord in their daily life, portrayed by a lifestyle worthy of being emulated by the students and a creative, loving style of teaching. Preference is given to teachers with certification and experience, although these are not absolute prerequisites. A small stipend which is sufficient to cover basic living costs is provided; however, prospective teachers are encouraged to seek congregational support to supplement their income during their time in Guatemala.
